What You Need to Know About Selecting a Twin Mattress Bed
If you are in the market for a mattress for that spare bedroom or for your child’s bedroom, there are a number of choices available. Mattresses and their box springs come in various styles, quality of construction and sizes.
There are five basic sizes of mattresses that are available to the consumer. Those sizes are the California king mattress, king-size mattress, queen-size mattress, double bed mattress and twin mattress.
A twin mattress is the smallest sized mattress, but may be the appropriate choice. Therefore, it is important to understand what is a twin mattress bed, what are the benefits of this style of mattress and what are the disadvantages?
What Is A Twin Mattress Bed?
The twin mattress, also known as a single bed, is the smallest of all mattress sizes. The dimensions of this mattress bed are generally 39 inches wide and 75 inches long. A twin mattress bed is constructed based on the sleeping needs of one individual. This mattress is available in a variety of styles with an accompanying price range to match all the levels of the consumer’s budget.
Benefits of a Twin Mattress Bed
There are many benefits gained from the purchasing of a twin mattress bed. Many of those benefits are realized because of the mattress bed being the least in size. For example, if you have a small bedroom, this mattress would provide a perfect match. The bed will not overwhelm the size of the room and its placement would still allow room for other bedroom furniture or give the appearance of having more space in the bedroom.
Also, a twin mattress bed is an ideal choice for a child’s room or for a spare bedroom that serves as a guest room. In addition, two of these mattresses would allow for the sleeping arrangement of two children within the same room. Each child could share a bedroom, but have the distinction of having their own bed to sleep in. In addition, this mattress is the ideal size of mattress when using bunk or trundle beds.
Disadvantages of a Twin Mattress Bed
One of the major disadvantages of a twin mattress bed is that this bed is meant to comfortably sleep only one individual. Therefore, this mattress bed is not a good choice for the sleeping needs of a couple. In addition, because of the smaller size, many adults find this mattress too short to meet their long-term sleeping needs.
